It's an eventful time for LLB Schweiz. With the new locations in St. Gallen and Zurich, we aim to further expand our private banking, corporate client, and EAM business. At the same time, on-demand locations are closing, and client support is being reorganised. At the half-time of our ACT-26 strategy, we are asking: is LLB Schweiz on the right track? And what are Team Switzerland's plans for the second half?

By Gernot Bilz

LLB Schweiz has played strongly so far and attained significant successes in the first half of the ACT-26 strategy. Our half-year profit for 2024 amounted to CHF 20 million, which is 27.2% more than last year. This success is thanks to the strong team performance of the Swiss regular players. We're now highly motivated to keep up the energy in the second half of the ACT-26 strategy.

LLB Switzerland enters the second half of its strategy with great vigour

A breath of fresh air with a new coach

We took an important step with the opening of our new location in Zurich on 1 July. Everything is also going according to plan in St. Gallen, with the opening scheduled for September. So, we are making good progress. At the same time, with our new “head coach” René Zwicky and his support staff, we have also set the course for the team to become even better. The reorganisation of customer service is underway. Our goal for the second half of the ACT-26 strategy is therefore clear: to win the championship in advising our clients, of course.

Instead of the usual dressing room speech, we asked some of our playmakers in Switzerland for their thoughts on the first half and how we can win even more of the game in the second half.

What are your insights at the half-time of the ACT-26 strategy from a Swiss perspective?

“We've launched many important projects, but we're not quite where we want to be yet. The change in the CEO position took some time, but we're now fully on track with the new coach."

What are your highlights of the first half of the strategy?

“We started strong in the first half of the strategy, thanks to our solid direct client business. The progress in digitalisation, particularly through LLB.ONE, has been a great success. Focusing on our core clients – private clients and companies – has also been crucial. The openings in Zurich, and soon in St. Gallen, are significant milestones."

What do we still have to work on in the second half?

“First, we have to complete the ongoing reorganisation. Then we can fully concentrate on our day-to-day business again. We also need to clearly define the new EAM target markets and achieve growth in those areas. With this growth driver, we will increase the pressure on the goal."

The key points of the ACT-26 strategy and the unified brand identity as LLB are central elements for our success with LLB Schweiz in Zurich and across Eastern Switzerland.

When will we be “one of the most trustworthy banks in the world” in the eyes of Swiss clients?

“We have a long tradition and a strong foundation. But trust is built only when we take good care of our clients. This means communicating as equals and taking their needs seriously, so that we can offer them the best individual solutions as a team."

With these goals in mind, we're entering the second half motivated and ready to score more goals. Let's go Switzerland – hopp Schwiiz!
